Using the mouse you can select an image area to process or decide to process the whole image. In the first case after selecting the area click Save data button. Otherwise click Save data without selecting any area. To select a different area simply draw a new rectangle. To select the whole image after selecting an area click Reset selected area.

In the box between Exec now and Reset selected area are shown the width and height of the selected area (or of the whole image) and the number of tiles that will be processed for each level.

MicroTiling creates a text file called case_name_data.txt showing all the selected parameter.

Analysing the example line by line:

- name of the folder containing the ndpi file

- name of the ndpi file

- name given to the deep focus image

- z-stack levels

- tile size in pixel (512x512 in the example)

- start X coordinate in pixels

- start Y coordinate in pixels

- width of the selected area in pixels

- height of the selected area in pixels

- Gray image selected (1=Green)

- GLCM displacement vector selected (1=45°)

IMPORTANT

The deep focus process of a selected area is very slow. Very slow means many hours and sometimes days. The deep focus of a whole image is faster.

Also the computer used is very important. A computer with CPU Intel™ i5™ (or equivalent) with 8GB RAM is the minimum recommended. If your computer is equipped with a processor i7™ and 16GB RAM … everything will be faster and safer.
