BigTilesMaker

Once you have created the deep focus image most likely you want to check immediately the result of your work. As explained at the beginning, the deep focus image is a collection of tiles where all the cells are in focus. Together with the tiles a text file called name_of_the_case.aci is created. Editing it you will see that it is an index of all the tiles present in the folder and their coordinates in the deep focus image.

If ImageScope™ is installed on your computer it is theoretically possible to see your deep focus image with a simple double click on ImageScope™. Just in theory, because ImageScope™ does not work if the number of tiles exceeds 600-700. To overcome this problem you can use BigTilesMaker.

Simply drag and drop the .aci file onto the box and a new folder will be created. In the folder you will find a smaller number of tiles and a new .aci file. Each new tile is a mosaic of 6x6 or 12x12 or 24x24 old tiles.

With a double click on the new .aci file ImageScope™ will display the deep focus image.

This is not the best way to visualise the deep focus image. As previously mentioned a conversion into Zoomify™ or .svs™ format is more effective.

But it simple and gratis … better than nothing!
